Lanzarote - Sun Sea & dodgy dealings

Well Lanzarote, what's that like?

Following on from Nigel's comments it is ideal for an early season jaunt, some varied life but a dry suit for February is definitely recommended. Only a couple of missed dives from one or two of our longstanding members, not due to sampling too much of the local Grog though.................Perish the thought.

Manta Divers were pretty cool, friendly and easy going. They have a luxury 4.5 metre RIB which we dived from on a few occasions, only trouble was the tubes were coming away from the hull which surprisingly let quite a lot of the Briney in. On one dive, three of our Aquanuats had to leave the sinking vessel to save the remaining crew and passengers. They "rested" in the water until the craft returned from depositing some of the more valuable weight on the quayside.

Not had a chance to "Spill the Beans" until now but various underhand dealings were in play on our visit to this Volcanic Region. One of our popular members was duped into smuggling a large quantity of small chopped leaves in individual porous sacks into Blighty. This caused no end of concern at the airport check in and a lot of sweat & anquish. However a detailed inspection of the package confirmed suspicions that these Liptons teabags were still ok for use. Hmmmmmmmmm..............................If only teabags were filthy Lucre.

No points awarded to any members in the race to the broken prop award on this particular trip but I will keep you posted.
